Nasi iSpani Internship Programme 2025 – Social Development Opens Applications

The Gauteng Department of Social Development has officially opened applications for the Nasi iSpani! Internship Programme 2025, giving young people an entry point into the world of social services. This initiative is part of the province’s bigger commitment to fight youth unemployment by connecting graduates and students to real work opportunities.

Unlike short-term projects, this internship programme is designed to run for 24 months, giving participants both stability and the chance to build solid work experience.

About Nasi Spani Internships 2025

This round of internships is focused on the social services sector, with placements available in:

• Social Auxiliary Work (NQF Level 4 or 5, must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals)
  
  

• Social Work (BA qualification, must be registered with the same council)
  
  

Successful candidates will be placed across the Department’s corridors and institutions in Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Sedibeng, West Rand, and Johannesburg. Placement depends on where the need is strongest.

Requirements: Who Can Apply?

• South African youth of all races and genders are welcome

• Preference will be given to persons with disabilities

• Must hold the relevant qualification (Social Auxiliary or Social Work)
  

• Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP)

• Must be prepared for placement anywhere within Gauteng where the department operates
